Hebrew philanthropic organizations received requests amounting to $14,000 from the will of Robert G. Blumenthal, who died on January 14 of this year, according to appraisal by the Transfer Tax Department made yesterday.
Mr. Blumenthal left a gross estate totaling $741,735 and a net estate of $633,456. The principal assets consisted of stocks and bonds amounting to $509,023.
Mr. Blumenthal bequeathed $5,000 to Mt. Sinai Hospital, requesting that this sum be added to the Anna M. and Gustav Blumenthal endowment created by the late Gustav Blumenthal, who died in 1919; $#,000 to Montefiore Hospital; $2,500 to the Federation for the Support of Jewish Philanthropic Societies; $1,000 to the Employees Association of Commercial Factories and $500 to the Henry Street Settlement.
The balance of the fund went to Mrs. Dorothy S. Blumenfeld, his widow, who lives at 930 Park Avenue. Provision was made for relatives, friends and former employees.
