(Jewish Telegraphic Agency)
An appeal urging German Jews to support the work of the Ort, the society for the promotion of trades and agriculture among the Jews of Eastern Europe, the Oze, the society for the protection of the health of the Jewish population, and the Emigdirekt, the United Jewish Emigration Committee, was issued by Albert Einstein.
Professor Einstein states in his appeal that the World War caused the greatest losses to the Jewish people in Eastern Europe. Words cannot express all that they have suffered. East European Jewry is faced with the question: to be or not to be. Philanthropy alone is insufficient to render them relief, he declares.
