Philip Guedalla was elected president of the English Zionist Federation in a close contest against the well known Zionist leader, Joseph Cowen.
Ground was broken on Sunday at Yonkers, N. Y., for a community center building to be erected by the Jewish Federation of Yonkers. Samuel Untermyer presided and an address was made by Supreme Court Justice Humphrey J. Lynch of White Plains.
Morris Bleich. president of the Jewish Federation of Yonkers, turned the first spadeful of earth at the site of the new Center. The building will cost about $250,000.
