Philip Jacobs, Industrial and Religious Leader, Buried in Portsmouth

–Funeral services were held here today for Philip Jacobs, president of the Eagle Coal and Iron Co., who died Sunday of heart failure at the home of his father-in-law in Cincinnati.

Mr. Jacobs was a trustee of the Kahl Kadosh Bene Abraham Congregation and superintendent of its sabbath school. For many years he served as a voluntary reader when the rabbi was absent.

His survivors include his widow, Mrs. Belle Levine Jacobs, and a daughter, Ellen Leah.

The funeral services were conducted by Rabbi Samuel Wohl of Isaac M. Wise Temple, Cincinnati, and Rabbi Harry Pastor of this city.

WALTER ABEL HAS A SON

A son was born Monday morning to Mr. and Mrs. Walter Abel. Mr. Abel is now rehearsing with the cast of “Wife Insurance,” which will open on Broadway soon.
