Philip Roth’s “The Human Stain” won the National Jewish Book Awards’s fiction prize, making Roth a three-time winner of the award. In the 51st annual awards sponsored by the Jewish Book Council, Samuel Freedman won the non-fiction prize for “Jew vs. Jew,” his exploration of conflict within the American Jewish community.
