Five hundred Americans, members of Pioneer Women, participated in a gala event here tonight when they celebrated the 35th anniversary of the establishment of their organization, and were greeted by Mrs. Itzhak Ben-Zvi, wife of Israel’s President; Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion; other high officials of the Government and of the Jewish. Agency; and Mrs. Ogden Reid, wife of the United States Ambassador here.
It was a tri-lingual gathering, at which Mr. Ben-Gurion addressed the American women in Yiddish; Mrs. Reid spoke in fluent Hebrew; and members of the American group responded in English. Mrs. Clara Leff, president of Pioneer Women, is heading the visit of her organization’s members here.
