Pioneer Women, the Women’s Labor Zionist Organization of America, concluded today the annual three-day meeting of its board of directors. Projects and goals for the organization’s social service and education programs in Israel were discussed at the sessions.
Mrs. Rose Kaufman, national president of Pioneer Women, announced that the organization had transmitted $50, 000 to Israel in honor of Mrs. Zena Harman, chairman of the board of the United Nations Childrens Fund, to provide scholarships for the education of Israeli children. Mrs. Harman, who is the wife of Israel’s Ambassador to the United States, was honored at a luncheon session of the meeting.
