Pioneer Women, the Women’s Labor Zionist Organization of America, has decided to establish an Eleanor Roosevelt Lecture Hall in the Graduate School Library building to be built for the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, it was announced at the closing session here today of the organization’s 35th anniversary conference,
Mrs. Sidney A. Leff, national president of Pioneer Women, presented Mrs, Roosevelt with an engraved plaque “in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the cause of Israel.” The construction of the Hebrew University library building is an overall project of Pioneer Women for the coming year.
A resolution adopted by the conference voiced “profound regret” at the injection of “irrelevant religious issues into the current Presidential campaign,” and urged “the American people to disavow the so-called religious issue and cast their votes as free men and women in accordance with the dictates of their conscience.”
