A half million dollars for the establishment and maintenance of institutions in Israel were transmitted to the Working Women’s Council in Israel by the Pioneer Women of America, it was announced today at a meeting of the organization’s national board. The funds, which include monies raised by Pioneer Women chapters in Canada, is exactly half of the Pioneer Women’s goal for this year.
In addition, the organization has turned over nearly $100,000 to the Youth Aliyah department of the Jewish Agency for use in aiding in the emigration of Jewish children from Europe, North Africa and the Arab countries.
