Pioneer Women, the Women’s Labor Zionist Organization of America, announced today at the closing session of its annual national board meeting that a special conclave will be held by the organization in Jerusalem in October. Mrs. Clara Leff, national president, said an attendance of 1, 000 members was expected.
The board voted to transmit $100,000 to Pioneer. Women institutions in Israel for Passover observances. It also announced the planting of a 50-acre orange orchard in Israel in memory of Elisehva Kaplan Eshkol, wife of Israel’s Finance Minister, who died several months ago. She was an ardent supporter of Pioneer Women programs.
