Plans for providing a permanent foundation for the school of religion at the University of Iowa were discussed at a meeting of the trustees of the school. A committee, headed by E. P. Adler of Davenport, Iowa, was appointed to work out the plans.
The school of religion here, founded in 1925, was the first university school of its kind. Since its establishment, other universities have opened similar schools. Trustees of the school include men prominent in the Protestant, the Catholic and Jewish faiths.
WISE’S SON AUTHOR OF BOOK CRITICIZING LEADERS
James Waterman Wise, son of Rabbi Stephen S. Wise, is author of the book “Jews Are Like That,” it was announced yesterday by Brentano’s, the publisheres, in response to demands for the author’s name by some of the subjects of the book. It was published under the pseudonym of Analyticus.
Rabbi Wise is one of nine American Jews whose careers are sketched in the book.
