The project of constructing a road to link Egypt, Palestine and Syria is being considered by the Egyptian government, the Arab press reports. It is proposed that the road should pass through Suez, linking the Sinai Desert to the Egyptian-Palestine frontier. It is pointed out that such a road would do away with the difficulties of desert crossings by car which often results in the drivers abandoning their vehicles and continuing the journey on foot to the nearest inhabited spot.
