A bill that would establish the same wage levels and social benefits in the West Bank that apply to workers in Israel will be introduced by the Cabinet soon. The bill, in preparation by the Ministry of Labor and the Ministry of Defense, would replace part of the Jordanian statutes in effect on the West Bank with Israeli law. The Israeli government has refrained from changing Jordanian law until now. Observers here said such a move would have important political significance.
