A military plane carrying ten high ranking Egyptian military officers is reported missing over the Mediterranean today. The plane was last contacted about 50 miles from the Israel-Lebanese border, a cable from Beirut reported.
The plane was one of two aircraft which left Damascus this morning for Cairo. The other, carrying Gen, Abdel Hakim Amer, Egyptian Commander-in-Chief, arrived safely in Cairo. The missing plane carried his staff. Lebanese and British planes are searching for the missing plane.
