Plans for Establishment of Jerusalem As Seat of Israel Government Nearing Completion

Plans for the establishment in Jerusalem of the seat of the Israel Government–which is now maintained at Hakiryah, in Tel Aviv–will be completed by the end of this month, it was reported today. About 2,500 dunams of land have been allotted for government buildings, which are expected to cost $2,800,000 to crect.

Construction of permanent government buildings here is scheduled to begin in the fall, when a building which will house the Premier’s office, the Foreign Ministry and the Treasury will be crected. Premier David Ben Gurion is slated to move to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv as soon as his house in Rehavia is repaired.
