The French government is said to have laid the basic outlines for an official visit to, Paris by Israeli Foreign Minister Abba Eban sometime next April. It is expected Eban will meet with President Georges Pompidou, Premier Pierre Messmer and Foreign Minister Michel Jobert during a predicted 5-day visit. The exact details of the trip will probably be worked out today when Israeli Ambassador Asher Ben Nathan is expected to meet with Jobert.
Jobert himself is expected to visit Jerusalem either this summer or fall for two days during which time he will also visit other parts of the country. It will be the first time a French minister will have visited Israel since the creation of the Jewish State. French sources say the forthcoming visits will finally “normalize” relations between the two nations.
