Plans to build a Holocaust gallery in the Canadian War Museum in Ottawa were suspended after complaints from veterans groups and others ignited a debate and prompted a series of senatorial subcommittee hearings. The Royal Canadian Legion and other veterans organizations complained that they weren’t consulted about the gallery and claimed that the Holocaust had little to do with the experience of the Canadian military during World War II.
