Important non-Jewish circles are quietly expressing general approbation of Thursday’s editorial in the Frankfurter Zeitung, which called upon the Nazi regime to loosen its restrictions on Jews in the economic sphere.
The editorial is believed to have been inspired by important personages, since the newspaper is supported by big industries, particularly the chemical, thus indicating direct backing by Ministers Schmidt and Frick.
Both have constantly insisted that the “Aryan principle” should be disregarded in business and finance, but have not been able to influence the official policy whereby Jews are excluded from the economic life of the country.
