The N.Y. Times, in a dispatch from Praha today, quoted Premier August in Volosin as follows on the Jews in Carpatho-Ukraine:

“There will be no racial legislation against our Jews, who amount to 12 per cent of per population. We regard them exactly as any other citizens. They are scattered throughout the country. Every village has its proportion of Jews. There may be legislation against certain; evils with which some Jews are connected, such as charging too high rates of interest to the peasantry, but that will certainly not show either racial or religious discrimination.”
