Rumanian police revealed today that they had uncovered plots to assassinate Premier George Tatarescu and other high government officials.
According to authorities, the plot was revealed with the arrest of Professor Gomoju, well known Rumanian surgeon and a member of an organization sympathetic to the anti-Semitic, Fascist Iron Guard.
Professor Gomoju was charged with having sent threatening letters to members of the government and leading personalities in Rumania. The letters are said to have government circles in a state of near panic.
The arrest caused a sensation here in view of the fact that the trial of the Iron Guardist assassins of Premier Ion Duca is now in progress and because of the social standing of Professor Gomoju.
