Poland Arrests 40 Following Attacks

Forty members of the National Radical party, which recently seceded from the National Democrats to adopt a more violent anti-Semitic policy were under arrest today following attacks on Jews here yesterday on the occasion of the May Day celebration.

The “Naras” made several attacks on the May Day parades in which the Jewish Workers Party (Bundists) marched with the Polish Socialist Party. Jewish passersby were attacked in the streets and windows in Jewish shops and homes and in the Talmud Torab were broken.

The Jewish merchant Abraham Bronzowski was seriously injured.

The “Naras” distributed many leaflets throughout the city announcing their intention of making further attacks on the Jews and calling on the general population to join them.
