A plebiscite on the question; what is to become of the Republic of Poland and whether it is not to be substituted by a kingdom, is now a popular issue in the country.

The “Glos Monarchisty,” the organ of the Polish monarchists, states that the Council of the Monarchist Peasants Party decided to urge the holding of a plebiscite on the question, a monarchy or a republic? The semi-official Osta news agency states that aristocratic and conservative Polish circles support the plebiscite movement.

The question of a monarchy in Poland has been given greater impetus lately when the name of Josef Pilsudski was connected with the plan. Rumors to that effect spread following Marshal Pilsudski’s attendance at a monarchists banquet given at the Radziwill Palace at Nieswiez.
