Poland Names Commission to Investigate Alleged Mistreatment of Migrants

A special government commission was named by the Polish authorities to investigate conditions on steamers in the French and English harbors bearing Polish emigrants. The commission will investigate charges that Polish emigrants sailing to North America have been mistreated while aboard ship.

Leon Alter, representative of the Hebrew Immigrant Aid and Sheltering Society, was named a member of the commission.
