The Ministry of Interior is reported working on a project which, Jewish newspapers said today, would lead to prohibiting Jews in provincial towns from moving to Warsaw.
The project was said to provide that any person living in the provinces who desired to settle in the capital would have to prove that he would not become a burden.
“Although the project does not mention Jews it would in practice mean the sentencing of thousands of provincial, breadless Jews to death from starvation in their townships,” commented Dos Wort, daily organ of the labor Zionists.
