In order to “prevent a raging, tearing anti-Jewish agitation from gaining speed” in Poland the government of that country need display only half the firmness it has shown against the peasants and the Socialists, the Manchester Guardian said yesterday in a leading editorial on the newly-founded Polish anti-Semitic, pro-Nazi party.
The party referred to in the editorial was formed by a group, believed to be predominantly academic, which asserts that the Endek (National Democratic) party is not sufficiently anti-Jewish and anti-government. According to information now available, professionals all over the country are flocking to the ranks of the new group. There are said to be at least three hundred Nazi agents in Poland.
If the Polish government does not take the firm stand necessary, the Manchester Guardian says, “it is taking a terrible risk.”
