A Jewish shoemaker and his wife were killed by a Polish peasant in a quarrel over 75??? in the village of Beibisch, Galicia. The peasant had brought his shoes in to be repaired by Wiselman, the shoemaker, but when the work was finished refused to pay the equivelent of 75??? demanded by Wiselman for the work. Upon the shoemaker’s insistence upon payment, the peasant killed Wiselman, and Wiselman’s wife when she attempted to come to her husband’s assistance.
