A special “Jewish” department has been set up in the Polish Defense Ministry by General Marjan Kukiel, Defense Minister, it was officially announced here today.
The new bureau will study the “relations between Jewish soldiers and others in the Polish Army in order to tighten the bonds of comradeship and solidarity between victims of a common foe,” the announcement stated. Earlier this week, General Kazmierz Sosnkowski, new Polish Commander-in-Chief, told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency that he planned to follow the policy of the late General Wladyslaw Sikorski, guaranteeing equal rights and no discriminatory treatment to all Jews in the Polish armed forces.
