Vladimir Poliakoff, publisher of the Pariser Tageblatt, German emigre paper formerly under the editorship of Georg Bernhard, announced today he had instituted action for theft and defamation of character against his former employes, who recently resigned charging he had sold out to the Nazis.
He said he had invoked a court of honor to hear the moral aspects of the case and had asked the Foreign Press Association and the Publishers! Syndicate to investigate the situation.
Denying that he had sold out to agents of the Nazi Government, Poliakoff accused his former employees of trying to rob him of his paper under the guise of a political attack. The staff is now issuing another emigre paper, the Pariser Tageszeitung.
M. Lewinsohn, who succeeded Dr. Bernhard as editor of the Tageblatt, announced that he could identify persons who assaulted him two weeks ago while leaving the paper’s plant and that he had started an action against them.
