The police chief of the city of Santa Fe, where anti-Jewish agitation has been increasing within recent months, has written an open ##ter to El Litoral, most influential newspaper in the city, defending his department against charges that it is not attempting to halt anti-Semitism.
He insisted that the police are investigating various slanderous pamphlets and ##ricatures and slogans painted on walls throughout the city in an attempt to find ## who is reponsible for them. However, Jewish observers point out that no arrests have been made although the anti-Jewish activities have occurred continuously over a period of several months. The local nationalist group has issued a statement expressing opposition to the anti-Semitic propaganda.
