The Vienna University authorities were compelled to call strong police detachments today when the anti-Semitic students renewed their attacks. This time University officials were among the victims of the rioting students. The police cleared the campus, overcoming the resistance of the Hakenkreuz student organization.
The dean announced that more severe measures will be taken against the turbulent students as the anti-Semitic organization delivered an ultimatum to the University Senate demanding the withdrawal of the order expelling three ringleaders. The memorandum also demanded that the anti-Semitic Voellcische student organization be intrusted with safeguarding order at the University, in place of the police.
