Large police detachments guarded Wilno’s Jewish sections tonight after many Nationalists had been arrested in attempts to invade the Jewish quarters.

The District Governor received Parliament Deputy Isaac Rubenstein, Chief Rabbi of Wilno, and promised that the authorities would permit no disorders.

A thousand Nationalist students, following the closing of Wilno University indefinitely as result of disorders, occupied grounds and student houses, threatening to remain until their anti-Jewish demands were granted.

They called on the university’s senate to institute special “ghetto benches” for Jews, dismiss all Jewish instructors and revoke disciplinary action against Nationalists being punished for previous outbreaks.
