Police have reported that there have been “almost 100” incidents in the Iast month in the predominately Orthodox Jewish Midwood section of Brooklyn of teenagers snatching the hats of rabbis and students as they walk to their yeshivas.
Several days ago three teenagers were arrested for snatching hats. While they were in the police station-house waiting to be booked, the three asked the police if they wanted to buy hats. “It’s a big joke to them,” said Police Officer Aniello Tuzzio who made the arrests. Tuzzio said that among the hats found in their possession was one belonging to a 69-year-old rabbi.
