Disturbances which threatened the Jewish quarter here yesterday during a procession of uniformed members of the anti-Semitic Iron Guard, were prevented by the action of the police.
Eight hundred members of the Iron Guard, lead by the notorious anti-Semitic leader, Pope, marched through the Jewish quarter in full regalia in celebration of the unification of larger Roumania. The Iron Guards endeavored to erect swastikas, symbol of the anti-Semites, on the grave of the unknown soldier.
This was prevented, however, by military police, but not until a clash ensued in which fifteen members of the Iron Guard were injured. Pope and many Iron Guards were arrested.
