The police department yesterday announced that the al#eged attack upon Dr. Rose Meller, physician and poetess, ascribed to fanatical Nazis, never took place and was the invention of the pathological imagination of Dr. Meller.

Dr. Meller has confessed that she fabricated the entire tale of how a young Nazi came to her clinic, ostensibly as a patient, and when she began to examine him, stabbed her, shouting the vengeance of the Brown House.

The alleged attack on her and the list of prominent Jewish writers on a Nazi proscribed list, were part and parcel of the same inventiveness, she confessed, according to the police.

Police guards had been stationed outside the homes of prominent Jewish writers after the alleged attack.

The Nazi press today utilizes this incident for a renewed anti-Semitic agitation.
