Unprecedented and rigorous sentences against anti-Semitic offenders, recently passed by the Polish courts, were made public today by the authorities.
The priest Dogorinski was sentenced by the Lodz court to one month imprisonment and a fine of three hundred zloty for distributing anti-Semitic leaflets.
For organizing anti-Jewish disturbances in the village of Bodzanow, the Plozk court sentenced Gustav Nowakwas to five years’ imprisonment and Joseph Nowakowski to three years. Both men were members of the “Obwiopol”, an anti-Semitic organization.
At Wyszorgrod, the court sentenced Cesar Chyczenski, Felix Kiedrowski and Eugene Kopce to one month imprisonment and a fine of one hundred zloty each. They had spread the rumor that Jews had murdered a Christian woman, causing the breaking of windows in Jewish homes.
At the same time the authorities dissolved the students’ self-help unit of the Endeks (National Democrats) the anti-Semitic party in Poland, thus liquidating the last Endek legal group for anti-Jewish activities. However, the Endek is certain to continue its anti-Jewish agitation underground and through the anti-Semitic press.
