A children’s concert in which some 1,000 boys and girls participated was nearly disrupted when a band composed of members of the Polish boy scouts refused to play for a Jewish children’s choir, it was reported here today. The concert, which took place at a resort town, continued after the scout leader prevailed upon his charges to play for the Jewish singers who rendered Polish and Jewish songs.
Three Poles, members of an anti-Jewish, anti-government underground organization, have been arrested for desecration of the Jewish cemetery of Lodz and the destruction of a number of tombstones. They will be brought to trial in October, a Security Ministry spokesman revealed.
