The Polish Consulate at Essen has intervened in the case of an attack at Duisburg, where Hitlerites penetrated the house of Rabbi Bereischa, a Polish citizen, attacked him, and dragged him through the streets, wrapped in a Republican flag. It was not until the Rabbi had been seriously injured that the police intervened and put him under protective arrest. The Rabbi’s wife, who was pregnant, was also seriously molested.
At Cologne, the Nazis attacked a Polish citizen by the name of Abraham, threatening him with death. His wife, panic-stricken, jumped from a window, breaking her leg. Both husband and wife are now in the hospital.
