Polish Consul Lecht Niemo declared today that existing misunderstandings between Jews and Poles would be eliminated as soon as Poland survived its present crisis, “a crisis that places Poland as the defender of European civilization menaced by Hitler.”
In an interview with the California Jewish Voice to be published Sept. 8, the Consul said a number of Jews of Polish extraction had offered to enlist for Poland’s defense. Appealing to Polish Jews and Poles in America to unite forces, he said assistance must be given in such manner as not to jeopardize the United States neutrality policy.
