According to the report of the Consulate in Berlin among the applicants are not only many Polish Jews who have for long resided in Germany, but also German-Jewish citizens wishing to leave for Poland.
The extent of the alarm felt in Germany is illustrated by the fact that frontier posts have reported attempts by German Jews to cross the frontier into Poland.
