Polish customs authorities confiscated two books of Jewish interest–one a book on Yiddish literature and the other on Zionism–among dozens of other books shipped to Warsaw to be shown in the International Book Fair which opened there yesterday. The books, which the Polish authorities described as “undesirable” were seized in a raid on the Palace of Science and Culture. The customs officials said the books would be returned to the publishers after the exhibit closes.
