Endek arguments that there are a disproportionate number of Jews attending the higher schools of the country were given the lie today by the Gazeta Polska, semi-official Government organ.
The paper points out that it is untrue that the proportion of Jewish students, as contended by the anti-Semitic nationalist students, is larger than the proportion of the Jewish population in the country.
Another argument used by the Endeks in explaining the reasons for their recent attacks upon the Jews, is that Jewish students receive a disproportionate share of scholarships. This contention is also disproved by the Gazeta Polska which points out that Jewish students in the academic year 1934-35 received only 3.5% of the total scholarships distributed as against 7.9% during 1932-33.
