The Polish National Council voted unanimously today to consider a motion proposing the establishment by the Polish Government of a body similar to the American War Refugee Board, for the purpose of saving the surviving Jews and other people in Poland.
The motion, which was introduced by Emanuel Szerer, one of the two Jewish deputies, was referred to the judicial committee of the Council where it will come up for discussion on Thursday. It will then be re-submitted to a plenary session of the Council. The proposal was supported by the other Jewish deputy, Dr. Ignacy Schwarzbart, and by the members of the Socialist Party and the Peasant Party.
