The Polish Semi-official Western Agency issued a communique in which it was stated that the Polish Government has been compelled to postpone a solution of the Jewish question in Poland on account of the maximum demands of Jewish Deputy Gruenbaum.
The communique cites as an example his demand that Yiddish, which the statement characterizes by the word “jargon”, he recognized as a language for use in Government offices.
This has made it impossible, the communique states, for the Polish Government to grant the Jews concessions in the questions of schools, language and religion.
On account of the Zionist disturbances, the communique further states, the convening of the Warsaw Kehillah had to be postponed.
Quoting the above communique the Jewish press here points out that the situation has been misrepresented, because the demands put forward by Deputy Gruenbaum were accepted by the Jewish Sejm Club in the name of all the Jewish parties, including even the orthodox Agudath Israel.
The papers are of the opinion that the reason for the issuance of the communique was to split the Jewish bloc.
