A decree outlawing anti-Semitism has been adopted by the Polish Government, it was announced here yesterday by Polpress, official news agency of the Government, on the basis of a cable from Warsaw.
The decree provides severe punishment for anti-Semitic activities or for the preaching and spreading of anti-Jewish proganda. The new law, together with all its provisions, will be published in Warsaw within a few days, the cable to Polpress said.
Polish Foreign Minister Wincenty Rzymowski, who is now New York, yesterday assured a delegation of the world Jewish Congress that his government would rigidly enforce the legislation barring anti-Semitism, and also promised that the repatriation of Polish Jews now in the Soviet Union would be facilitated. The delegation included Dr. Stephen S. Wise, Dr. Nahum Goldmann, and Dr. Arieh Tartakower.
