“The Polish Government-in-Exile has taken suitable steps to assure material help for the Jewish-Polish citizens who have succeeded in escaping from France to Switzerland,” a statement released by the Polish Information Center here today announced.
The Polish Government has also taken appropriate diplomatic steps for the purpose of “assuring Polish Jews in France with the most effective protection and has made concrete suggestions,” the statement said. “Foreign Minister Raczynski recently received Dr. Ignacy Schwartzbart, a Jewish member of the Polish National Council, who some time ago presented to him a memorandum on the situation of Jewish-Polish citizens in France and suggested appropriate preventative measures,” the announcement added.
