A government circular addressed to all heads of universities and colleges in the Republic of Poland was issued by the Minister of Education, urging the abolition of the numeras clausus against Jewish students which existed despite the fact that it had no legislative basis.
The issuance of such a circular was continually urged upon representatives of previous governments by the members of the Club of Jewish Deputies in the Polish Sejm. The Minister of Education urges upon the heads of the universities and colleges, on the occasion of the approaching new school year, that no discrimination be made with regard to the admission of students on the ground of their nationality or religion.
