Polish Government to Improve Relations with All Minorities, President Says

“It is our earnest intention to improve our relations with the minorities, not merely by words but in actual deeds,” Professor Moscicki. President of the Polish Republic, stated in the course of his interview with Herman Bernstein.

“Our Government,” the President said, “considers them all Polish citizens. All the minorities of different origin, race or creed, and all groups united among themselves by economic or cultural interests are absolutely equal, each of them contributing to the country’s prosperity and welfare. We shall endeavor in fact and not only in words to cement and harmonize the different portions of Poland’s entire population. We shall do that not by bargaining nor by offering concessions to certain elements and expecting immediate gratiture or compensation, nor shall we give advantage to one element at the expense of the others. We shall seek to strengthen and vitalize the entire population, so that each element shall live in harmony with all the others.

“The Government’s policy is to treat all the groups of minorities in a straightforward and just manner which alone can stabilize and bring about healthy conditions in Poland,” the president declared.

The Habima troup which is now in Chicago, will return to New York in time for the special farewell performance being arranged before their departure from America.

The farewell performance will be given on May 15th at the Century Theatre.

Among the numbers listed are three single acts from the three best plays of the repertory and a Habima concert.

Eight Jewish students are among the sixty-six new members elected to the Cornell Chapter of Sigma Xi, national honorary scientific fraternity.
