The Polish Government has informed the World Jewish Congress that Jewish displaced persons no longer need pay state fees in filing claims for the restitution of property in Poland, it was announced here.
The ruling will enable thousands of Jews to file their claims with the Polish authorities, since previously many of the DP’s were prevented from doing so by not being able to pay the required fee. The deadline for filing all such claims has been extended to the end of this year.
