A large number of Jewish doctors who, as Polish citizens, were this week released from internment in Soviet camps have now enlisted for service in Russian military hospitals, it is reported here today.
The report states that many prominent Polish Jews have already been released from their Soviet internment under the Russo-Polish pact, but that there are still a great number of cases where the orders to release the internees have not yet reached the local administration. This is especially true in the distant places of Siberia.
The Moscow radio today broadcast an article which appeared in Pravda, largest Soviet newspaper, quoting Gen. Anders, the chief of the Polish Army in Soviet Russia, as stating that the Polish armed forces which are now being organized in Soviet Russia from among the released Polish officers and soldiers will observe the principle of racial and religious equality as outlined by the Polish Premier Gen. Sikorski in his recent address to Polish military units in Scotland.
