Polish Jewry yesterday opened a month of mourning over the persecution of Jews in Germany, during which all entertainment will be banned and psalms will be recited daily. Collections for the German Jews will be made at all synagogues. A general fast was proclaimed for Wednesday by the Wilno Gaon (sage), Rabbi Chaim Oser Grodzienski.
